Manju M Hinduja – A Handloom curator, Artist, Designer, and Contemplative thinker with an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
Manju started her journey in the world of Fashion in 1986 as a student of Fashion Design at Sophia College Mumbai. She graduated from Mithibai College of Arts & Science with Majors in Psychology.
Keen to develop & hone varied skills, she ventured into the garment export industry. Connecting with international buyers, understanding and grasping the works on the production floor, to TQM- she excelled in every department. A Professional in the garment industry with long-standing experience of over two decades, been exporting garments across the globe!
The winds changed course in the year 2010 for the export market in South India, taking her overseas, to Bangladesh. Back to India in the year 2015, towards new beginnings!
She discovered the beauty of handlooms more in depth after her brother got married, her bhabi Radhika Hinduja comes from a family who are connoisseurs of Handlooms, she came into the family with our cultural heritage – the finest handloom sarees.
Coming back from Bangladesh and exploring the fashion industry she was naturally drawn to handlooms, here the journey and adventures began. Exploring the weaving hubs and understanding the plight of the weavers and the industry. This journey will not end, it’s the legacy that has to be created and passed on!
